The recommended dose of Cialis is 5-20 mg per day taken before sexual activity. The breakdown and elimination of Cialis from the body may be decreased by erythromycin, ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), indinavir (Crixivan) and ritonavir (Norvir). Therefore, these drugs may increase the levels of Cialis in the blood. Cialis exaggerates the increases in heart rate and lowering of blood pressure caused by nitrates (for example, nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate (Isordil), isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur). Cialis is not approved for use in women and has not been evaluated in women who are breastfeeding.
Our Cialis Side Effects Drug Center provides a comprehensive view of available drug information on the potential side effects when taking this medication.

How do I take Cialis?
Cialis can be taken in two different ways, either on an “as required” basis or on a daily basis. When using Cialis “as required” a tablet is taken before you wish to have sex. When taken on a daily basis, a lower dose of Cialis is taken each and every day. A daily approach is often best if you wish to have frequent, regular sex. Daily use also removes the need to take a tablet before you wish to have sex, sh helping to restore spontaneity.
When taking on an “as required” basis, the usual starting dose is 10mg. If 10mg is not effective and side effects are not problematic then the 20mg dose should be tried after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist. You should not take more than 20mg of Cialis a day as this will not give a greater effect but does increase the risk of side effects.
